About Dr. Moorthy
A specialist in treating breast diseases, Dr. Moorthy practices oncoplastic breast surgery, which combines sound oncology principles with plastic surgery techniques. The goal is to obtain wider surgical margins for complete removal of the breast tumor and minimize the risk of recurrence, while still providing the best possible cosmetic results. She also performs nipple sparing mastectomy, and participates in a national registry.
She was voted by her peers as a “Top Doc” in 2013-2017 and 2019-2024. One of her passions is to promote international awareness of breast cancer, specifically in countries such as India. She also works to promote women in healthcare and mentors pre-med and high school students who are interested in pursuing a career in medicine. Both in and out of the workplace, she is an activist on issues related to providing a higher quality of patient care.

Dr. Moorthy is a graduate of Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. She completed her general surgery residency at Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix and a Breast Surgical Oncology fellowship at the University of Southern California.

Dr. Moorthy is also a Clinical Assistant Professor for Creighton University. She has coauthored publications and a book chapter and has conducted research in artificial intelligence, machine learning, male breast cancer, and medical imaging. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and playing tennis with her husband and two sons.
